Geoscience data management with a
XML-based 3D information system

Features:

• integrated components: XML-database server, application server (XAppS) for 3d query support, user application front-ends (for example: 3d geomodeling software, internet browser/server, 2d GIS)
• sophisticated and computational demanding spatial queries are formulated as XQuery request and computed via the XAppS
• application server can be used with various XML-supporting database servers (driver API exists)
• custom computing applications can be developed and registered with the XAppS
• usable in distributed environments, platform independent
