3d Geomodeling (3 days)

  • Fundamental concepts

  • Wells, Groups & Stratigraphic Column
  • SGrid: Creation and Editing, Porosity interpolation

Geostatistics and reservoir characterisation (3 days)

  • Preliminaries: spatial data analysis
  • 1d-3d variograms and their interpretation
  • Estimation of continuous properties (Kriging, Cokriging) and facies (Indicator Kriging)
  • Simulation of continuous properties (SGS) and facies (SIS), Multiple point geostatistics, Risk assessment
  • Case studies: from seismic and well log data to facies and porosity model

Gocad plug-in development (2 days)

  • Gocad software architecture, design patterns
  • Plug-in programming examples and guided exercises using the Gocad C++ class library and Qt
  • Scripts and creation of wizards

GIS in geosciences (2 days)

  • Data model and data management
  • Geoprocessing, data analysis, query
  • Spatial analyst: raster processing
  • Geostatistical analyst
  • Development with ArcObjects

Geoscience data management (1 day)

  • Relational and object-oriented geoscience data modeling
  • spatial and spatio-temporal data models
  • Introduction to UML and XML Schema
  • POSC and OpenGIS standards (GML)
