HydrogeologyKotelnikovsky Spring - Khakussy Spring - Dawsha spring - Snake spring - Goryaschinsk Spring - Arshan - Nilowa Pustyn - Zemchug Dawsha SpringDawsha Spring is located on the eastern shore of Lake Baikal in the village Dawsha, which is about 120 km north of Ust' Barguzin. In summer one can get there only by ship. This village is the centre of the Barguzin Reserve. That's why there is no free access for the public. So, the thermal waters are mainly used by the employees of the reserve. The spring is located about 500 m from the Lake. In a small building there are two bathtubs where one can have a bath. The composition of the thermal water is chloride, sulphate sodium with a mineralization of about 0.6 g/l (TDS). These composition includes fluorine (8 to 10 mg/L) as well as silica with a range of 65 to 100 mg/L. The temperature of the alkaline water varies from 39 to 45 °C. The estimated discharge is 1.2 to 1.5 L/s. All other hydrogeochemical data you can find in the table below. Furthermore the waters have a positive EH, so they have oxidizing effects. The conductivity is relatively high and comparable to that of Snake Spring and Goryaschinsk. The waters of the Dawsha hot spring discharge over the surface of an eight meter terrace of pebble and sand sediments which is imposed on granites and granitoids.
