The research group defined the following regional and general topics:

A) Regional topics:

1. Physical Volcanology of the Intra-Sudetic Basin ( Poland and Czech Republic ):

·      Regional Permian ignimbrite

·      Volcanic centres:

o        Late Carboniferous laccolith complexes west of Wałbrzych

o        Late Carboniferous maar belt east of Wałbrzych

o        Permian trachyandesitic centres

2. Physical Volcanology of the North-Sudetic Basin ( Poland ):

·      Pyroclastic deposits

·      SiO₂-poor volcanic centres

·      SiO₂-rich lava domes

3. Permian volcanic and subvolcanic systems west of Krakow ( Poland )

4. Physical geology of the volcanic and subvolcanic systems in the Karkonosze-Piedmont Basin ( Czech Republic ) (to be defined in more detail during the next field workshop in spring 2007)

B) General topics ( Poland , Czech Republic , Germany ):

5. Transnational set of compatible topographic and thematic geological maps

6. Distal tuffs in all basins considered: characterization and correlation
