Practical training

Current research
My research interests are focussed on Late Paleozoic coarse-grained-clastic deposits in N Germany and W Poland. In the framework of DFG-Project SPP 1135 in collaboration with the Polish Geological Institute in Warsaw, the proposed project deals with the sediments which formed in the Central European Basin System (CEBS) during the Late Paleozoic. More specifically, lower and upper Rotliegend conglomerates will be analysed which represent an important lithology in the Southern Permian Basin (SPB). The question of so called dry and wet conglomerates and their distinguishing features are in the focus of interest. We hope for new aspects in the current research.
