International Center

The International University Center (IUZ) "Alexander von Humboldt" founded on November, 1st 2000 is a shared institution of the TU Bergakademie Freiberg. Among its tasks is the scientific preparation and language training for foreign applicants to prepare them for their studies at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg, as well as the general councelling of international students at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg.

 

Freiberg Student Union

 

On July, 1st 1991 the Freiberg Student Union was re-founded as one of four saxonian student unions. Despite its separate legal status it is closely connected to the TU Bergakademie Freiberg in terms of organization. It supports students in the fields of student funding, housing, meals, social and cultural issues. It therefore targets at an active participation in university life.

 

• Food Court

  In the "Neue Mensa" (food court) on Hornmühlenweg meals and drinks are offered at low cost. A choice is provided between four different meals, one of which is an "alternative meal" without meat (meal IV). Lunch is offered from Monday to Friday between 11.15 a.m and 2.00 p.m.

• Cafeteria

  The cafeteria offers breakfast and a selection of small meals. Different drinks such as milk, milk products, coffee and coffee products and a huge selection of soft drinks, candy and ice cream can be bought here.
  During the lecturing period the cafeteria also provides dinner - from Monday to Thursday between 5.30 p.m. and 8 p.m. The daily menue can be found clicking on the link below the following image:

Language Center

 

The Language Center at the IUZ offers a profession-oriented language training to all students that is designed for oral and written communication for study purposes (mobility programmes) and for his/her future professional career.

The University Library is located on campus. Further institution-specific libraries can be found in the individual faculties.

Academic Computing and Communication Services

 

The Academic Computing and Communication Services (URZ) operate the central data processing systems, the university's communication network, the central communication networks and the central computer pools for student training.

You can participate in university sports once you obtain a user card and have a student ID or proof of employment at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg.
